Does ATI still support using 2 different cards in Xfire?

I remember when Xfire came out they talked bout using 2 different xfire capable cards together, for instance x1800 and x1900 series in xfire.... is it still possible to do this lets say with a 2900xt and 2900pro? If so goddamn I wish nvidia would do the same with sli =|

You cannot pair up a 2900XT and a 2900Pro, however what most people is flash the pro with XT Bios (given all of them reach XT speeds unless you are *really* unlucky) and then you have 2 XT's so Crossfire is fine. However I believe this may be changing with the launch of the R670 and 'Crossfire X' (google it) where different cards and models can be paired up supposedly.
