does ATI have a linux driver for my video card?

ATI Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO ;the origional, before the model numbers

debian linux, 2.4.x kernel.

the drivers on ATIs site say there for 8500 series or higher(at least that i can find). am i missing something or am I SOL? i would like to have at least SOME hardwae acclation.

edit: i'd like to point out that i did put some thought into what forum to post this in.

Wow. Old card.

X.org 6.8.2 has a radeon driver that they've built from what information is available. It supports cards starting with R100 (Radeon 7200). Not sure whether your card will work with it or not.

The closed-source drivers offered by ATI are necessary if you have an R300-series card or later (9600, 9700, etc) and want 3D acceleration.
