Does Athlon and SB Live! conflict

sometimes i've heard that it's important to get the sblive! in the correct pci slot on some athlon mobo's to avoid issues, but i've built at least 4 systems with athlons and sblive!'s in the past 6 months and have never had any trouble....so going from my personal experiences i'd say don't worry about it. if it was really that big of a deal, i think we'd hear a lot more about it.
 
I have no problems on a MSI K7 Turbo and the Live! Maybe the old drivers had problems??? and now it's solved.
 
The Platinum is the same sound card as all the others. It only comes with a bigger software bundle and the Live Drive. I don't have the live drive, but I can't see it causing any conflicts.
 
I had problems with games crashing after several minutes due to the pci slot I used for my sblive. On my K7T Pro2-A, I had the sblive in pci slot#3 and had the problem of games locking up in win2k and win98se. I thought it was videocard driver issues or something. I tried every single software solution I can think of...but eventually moved it to the last PCI slot which solved that problem. Other than that......i haven't had any problems with my tbird system.
 
The SBLive is not inherently incompatible with the athlon. I've never heard of any specific problems on Athlon's and I've seen and setup a number of systems with SBLIve + Athlon.
I know that the earlier driver releases wouldnt work with the Coppermine P3 when it was initially released.
