Social aptitude aside. :sneaky: Would you say that message boards in general make you more well rounded? How about in comparison Facebook?

I feel that AT (including Off Topic, /gasp), despite some of the Facebook-ish traits (memes), can overall provide a more cerebral discussion than most other social media outlets which adds to being more well rounded. Facebook, while I've seen people have a few deep discussions, is more for status information which I wouldn't exactly say makes me more well rounded. Usually those discussions peter out pretty quickly whereas ATOT discussions/debates can last for days. So Facebook for me = more informed about status about people, but overall doesn't really add much to my life whereas AT does. Hence why I spend more time here than other social media outlets.

What do you think, does AT or even Facebook make you a more well rounded person?

Facebook is stupid, 99% of what is on there is completely pointless and a waste of time. It's useful to see what your long time buddy is up to, etc, but having non stop updates on how some chick is "sick of these hoes tryin' to steal her man" is retarded.

I wish facebook didn't have status update ability, it should just be a page where you post pictures/videos of your life, but can message and have real time chat with users, too. Basically, just a more advanced version of Instagram. Somedays, I consider turning my status feed off completely (possible?). If not, I'd just block every single persons' statuses from appearing.

A lot of stuff on here is pointless, with pointless comments, but at least it's not a minute by minute blog of all the people I couldn't care less about that are in my social network.

Calories In > Calories Out = Round Person.

I am rounder than I would like to be, I could stand to drop around 60-75 pounds or so... Though I have been stable at my weight for around 10 years and havent become rounder.

I have been using these forums since 1999, and I have gotten quite a bit rounder since 1999 though. But correlation is not the same thing as causation. So I cant say for sure.
