does arctic silver go bad?

i've had a tube of AS2 for several years now, and i'm wondering if it still works fine. i've kept the cap on it the whole time, so it hasn't been exposed to air.

the silver startings settling and separates into some clear liquidy stuff. I just threw it away. AS5 can be had for as cheap as 5 bucks. You could always try to remix it.

Last fall I used some AS2 epoxy that had been sitting for about 5 years. Still worked, held on a northbridge heatsink.
