Does Apple service jailbroken phones?

Two-part question:

1) Does Apple even service jailbroken phones?

2) If so, the speakerphone has gone haywire on my 1st gen iphone with really low volume and incredible crackling sound thats barely listenable. How much would it cost since its out of warranty?

I was thinking I might have to restore it before bringing it into the store if they don't service jailbroken phones. Can anyone confirm either way?

Restore it or they will refuse to work on it. I had the same thign happen with a friend of mine who had a jailbroken phone.

Apple will definitely not service a jailbroken iPhone. If you changed the boot logo, and they see a pineapple rather than an apple during start up, they will turn you away. Your best shot is to restore to factory settings.

does anyone know how much it costs to replace the speakerphone in the 1st gen iphone?

I wonder if they'd service it, if it was out of warranty. I know they'd turn you away for warranty service, but I wonder if they'd throw a fit if it was out of warranty.

Either way, I have no idea how much that'd cost to fix. The iPhone is a pain to open, from what I've seen, so I don't think I'd try that.
