Does AOL use a proxy server, even for the dial-up service?

Not sure which forum this question falls under, but I'll give it a stab in OT just for exposure...

Anyways, does AOL use proxy server even for dial-up? I'm assuming yes since how else can AOL service the content that's there when you open up the AOL program?

I would say that in a way...the AOL service itself is a proxy server. You don't have a direct connection to the internet, you go through them.
