does aol dsl have any sort of contract length?

I just found out the guy I'm going to be subleasing from soon might have aol dsl. :disgust:
fortunately there's better dsl in my area, but if he does have aol dsl, is there any reason he couldn't cancel it immediately and switch to another provider?

I know that we had a 6 month contract length, don't know if it's the same everywhere.
