Does anywhere sell Duron mobos that don't use DDR?

I'm running....well I guess used to be running a little linux box on the side so I can do my programming HW and play video games at the same time. :p The motherboard crapped out a few weeks ago and I'm looking to buy another one to replace it. I have a 1.2ghz AMD Duron processor, 20gig drive, and 512mb of PC133 ram to put in it. I have checked everywhere and it looks like I'd be stuck buying a new board AND DDR memory to replace it. :( I was hoping to spend like $40 and just get a really old board. I know no DDR what am I thinking??

Anyways, if anyone can help me that would be great. I checked newegg and zipzoomfly but it seems like they don't sell anything that doesn't use DDR. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There were a ton of Biostar MB's made with both DDR as well as the older "68-pin" SDRAM (two each){right, I was typing way too fast -- 168 pin SDRAMs}, based on a Via KT 266 (and 266A) chip set, the boards were being produced right up through 2004, maybe into 2005. Get the model number from the Biostar web site. You should be able to trace one through PriceGrabber or PriceWatch. If not Biostar, there was another brand selling some of that same kind of board, but whether it was AsRock or Jetway, or another, I can't recall. It was a third tier outfit with low production numbers.

(Another edit -- try a search on AT for Biostar M7VIW and see what it finds. Someone else was in your same leaky boat awhile back! I'm sure that this one and another, not ECS, did remain in production long enough for new ones to still be in the retail channel.)

Fixed.

In my opinion - just buy 512MB of value DDR. IT will give you a little boost in performance, which will get even better if you get your hands on a faster Duron chip down the line. 512MB of PC3200 DDR can be had for dirt cheap these days, and I'd assume some solid PC2100/PC2700 can be had for even less from the forums.

Yeah, I could get 1 stick of 2700 for $40 and then a mobo for $50 but then again I don't know if I really want to spend $100 with shipping on a computer I don't really do much with

Find yourself an ECS K7S5A. It takes either 168-pin SDRAM -or- 184-pin DDR. Not both, one or the other.

I've seen some in FS/FT and they can be had for next to nothing. Great boards too.
