Also it allows playlists to be created and loaded. The software required to create the playlist is MusicMatch jukebox i believe. The software comes with (of course), but I haven't tried this out. I just scroll the audio files hit play and let the shuffle function determine the music. You can also do the same concept only with Genre.
Hope the info helps and happy hunting.
That is correct, I have a RIO S35S which can be bought for ~$60 and comes with 64MB internal memory with expansion slot up to 512MB or total 576MB. It comes with armband and is sturdy and doesn't flap around any. I use this 3-4 times a week for working out in the gym, on benches, standing, and sitting. I run the headphones down the back of my shirt and out my sleeve to connect to my RIO which keeps the headphone wires from getting caught. You learn quick about that
It runs off of 1AAA that last me about 1 month. I only use it during workouts that last about 1 hour a piece. The headphones are on par, but you may want to upgrade. I haven't yet, but will soon since I lost one of the spongy things that covers the headphones.
I use the existing 64MB and convert my mp3/wma to 96kbps bitrate and can fit ~20 songs on it.
I would HIGHLY recommend this for someone who doesn't want to splurge on an IPOD or carry around something they may be scared of breaking. I have dropped mine numerous times with no problems.
Hope this helps.
