Does anyone work at AMD?

I've noticed they have a lot of job openings here in Austin right now, and there will especially be openings when they finish their new facility.

I've heard that they're a great company to work for but that's about all I know. Can anyone give a little more insight on what it's like to work there? Hopefully the complete opposite of Dell (I've heard so many horror stories).

Everyone at AMD that I've worked with has nothing but praise for the company (I know maybe 30 people that work between Austin and Santa Clara).

That's great to hear 🙂

They're about to build a huge office complex in Southwest Austin and make themselves an even more major employer here. I think I might try to get in on that action 😀

My mom worked there for almost 30 years. She liked working there, except for when they up and moved her job from San Jose to Austin (she didn't go). I used to get free CPU's when she worked there. AMD throws great parties, we went to one that had Rod Stewart performing, the food was AWESOME!

My brother does. He has been there for around 5 years and he likes it a lot. The people there are nice to work with.

My friend's brother is a regional sales rep. for them. He loves his job. I haven't had to buy a pr0k for the last five years. I love that he loves his job!
