Does anyone wear this jacket?

I'm really interested in this jacket since its basically 3 jackets in one. I'm just a little concerened that the individual parts wont fit as well and there might be odd looking attachment points on the jacket. Would it be better to just get a dedicated fleece and another softshell?

At $229 bux it better be made in America, other wise it is pissing away money for over price Chinese product.

Would it be better to just get a dedicated fleece and another softshell?

During my mountaineering days & tree planting up Norther Canada it was better to get a separate fleece & outer wind blocker.

usually jackets like that, at least what ive seen, have an extra zipper behind a placket that attaches the two jackets, with snaps or some such inside the sleeves and maybe something under the collar to hold it all together.

ive never spent that kind of money on a jacket, but the ones ive had that fit together looked fine. is there not a store in your area with northface stuff you can check out? hell, you can hit a kohls or sears or something and find a columbia jacket to get an idea of how that type fits together. they look good, anyway, if thats what youre mostly concerned about.

Do you have an EMS near you? They have a similar setup, except it's just two pieces. That's really all you need. A 300-weight fleece that snaps into a wind/water resistant shell.

I use the shell only for skiing/snowboarding since the fleece gets warm. But on a cold day, it's nice to have it w/ the shell.

Whole thing will set you back about $150 and it's at least as good quality as the jacket you posted.

I've got a columbia of a similar style, great jacket. I can swap it around to match any kind of weather. Also, my wife has a bunch of north face clothes and hasn't been disappointed yet. However. I'd check out columbia's jackets also. The are priced a bit better and have much of the same functionality. I've been using mine for almost 4 years and it seems almost brand new.

Costco has some Columbia jackets for decent prices.

north face jackets are rarely made in China, they are mostly made in Bangladesh now. I dont think you get 3 jackets with this, just 3ways to wear it with 2 jackets. my wife just bought a newer version of Northface Hero triclimate, it looks awesome, I haven't seen a men's version yet. This newer version has a softer brushed nylon shell.

If you have an REI near you go ASAP to look for jackets. Otherwise go online and look. They are selling stuff for 50% off their clearance price. I grabbed my wife REI's own brand jacket (it's got good reviews, top notch quality) for $75. It normally retails normally for $200.

they fit good together as a system. they do look good by themselves, in fact, I think my wife bought the Hero was because of the inner jacket. It's hard to tell its part of a system, but one way to tell is the inner jacket doesn't have the north face logo on the back that they are famous for. North face stuff come with lifetime warranty, and their stuff do last a long time. Have you seen and feel this jacket before, Bionic has a 'wetsuit' like feel to it, which I don't really care for it.

I wear a North Face Denali fleece jacket and a North Face Mtn Light Gore-Tex Shell. The Denali jacket(or any jacket) can be zipped into the Mtn Light but I've never done it and do see the need.

And if you have a REI near you, huge sale with jackets >50% off.

you missed the EMS xmas clearance.

waterproof/windproof breathable shell $50
200 weight fleece $25 (300 weight fleece was $50, but the $25 200 weight was a better bang for the buck)

i've had a Columbia 3-in-1 ski jacket. the fleece is specially designed for the shell. it zips right into it. unfortunately, the fleece was kinda thin. i reaplced it with the $25 200 weight fleece from EMS. MUCH warmer, but the sleeves sometimes comes out when i take off the jacket. no biggie

I'm not a huge fan of those multi jackets. Id rather have separate layers. More versatile that way.

It's too bulky for my needs. I have a pretty big snowboarding jacket so that's covered but it's too much for just everyday streetwear
