Norton will no longer support my version and it sounds like 2001 and 2002 are nightmares for Win 98 users. I was thinking about switching to AVG and was hoping to get some input. Anyone.......anyone......
Thanks.

Yes I`ve been using AVG on both my WinXP and 98 PCs for quite awhile now and it`s very good,it has given me no problems and is very easy to use etc,IMHO it`s probably the best free anti-virus available at the moment.

I use it on all 9 of my machines, and I know many other people who use it.

I also have had no problems at all. Highly recommended!

i was in the same situation as you (expired nav), and started using avg after getting recommendations from this forum ... i'd say it's good and it's working well
one experience that i had was i got alert from avg when it read a cookie that contains a "harmful script"
i never got such alert before from nav (it's not the first time i visited that website), so i'm quite convinced with avg ... plus it's free and quite up to date with the latest virus development

and yes, i didn't get paid to promote them :p :)

There was a good thread yesterday about AVG, mostly praises. I actually think it was about virus scanning in XP, but most of the people who replied (myself included) reccomended AVG.

Thanks for the input. You gotta love these forums. Except Hot Deals.........It just costs too much to save all that money.:p

I use it for almost 1.5 years now and it works great. First on Win98, then WinME and now Win XP Pro. Frequent updates, does not use a lot of resources, found all viruses so far and it is free.
