I thought you were asking about priceline... :p

I don't use it anymore because the vendors are usually smaller shops. They can't compete with Newegg or Zipzoomfly... This is usually based on shipping. Of course, I still use the site to price items and guide me on which processor to buy though...

What I do is go to the site and look at the trends to find the fastest processor for the money spent and figure out where the price breaks are. So if you go 6 months behind what's new, it's pretty clear on Pricewatch what you should be trying to buy if you don't want to pay the markup for something just because it's 'new'.

I did back when I first got into computer building. Discovered AT, and fairly quickly learned about Newegg. I've used most of the other usual suspects (ZZF, Monarch, eWiz, MWave, etc) as well. Now I tend to check Newegg first, get an idea of the price, and if I'm serious I'll shop around a bit, including the FS/T forum. I don't build much anymore. Last one I did was early 2007 for a friend, bought everything off of Newegg. If I was buying new, it would likely be due to me seeing a deal.

I never used Pricewatch much, but I still use product search engines quite a bit (mainly just Google Shopping) for small purchases. If I'm buying more than a few items, though, I tend to just order it all at NewEgg or ZZF and not shop around.

I use to use it to scope out the price breaks too...it was an easy way to get a whole lot of information.

Haven't used it since about 2000-2001. Same with ICQ sadly, although I still miss ICQ.

Pricewatch used to be a great place to find deals, but now they totally suck for most stuff.

I stopped bothering with them a couple years ago.

I still use it. Newegg in recent years is usually a bit more $$$ than everyone else (but I still buy from them).

I used it for a quick scan of the price, but most of the time it is pricegrabber for me.

QFT...the first several pages of listings are junk due to shops putting every keyword in their ads.

Froogle is a bit better now.

I use both, I scored a new pentium 4 mobile chip that was going for $300+ everywhere else on Froogle for only $50. It arrived new in box, it was part of old stock a vendor was liquidating.

I check it every now and then, but I've been out of the hardware scene for so long that I don't even know what's what anymore.

Used to use it, but when people started selling "CPU's" for pennies ect it became worthless. Now it is hard to find the good deals as you have to plug through the illegitimate crap to get the real price.

Not only that, but often prices for sites like newegg are wrong on it.
