Does anyone use MS ONECARE ???

I used the 90day trial of MS onecare. It seems to work nicely. Now I have to but it for $50 a year subscription. Is it worth it, or are other protection programs better? Anyone use or know onecare?

You used to be able to pick this up from B&M for something silly like $12-19 Make sure you check staples etc. etc. before you pay for it. If $50 is the going rate, I'd say spend the extra and go with F-Secure or Kaspersky. I'm currently using F-Secure and love it. Just my $.02

Why are there so many diff prices for this?
At Amazon.com you can get it for $19 to $39.
Are these all the same? Is the $19 onecare the same as that available on the MS website for $49?

The $19 price is for those who have been using the trial version of one care and on the website was available through the end of May. After that it is $50 for all comers. I tried it and almost bought the year subscription - - but I feel more protected with my old standby Zone Alarm Internet Securiy Suite.

Oh - to get antispyware and antivirus you have to have Windows Defender as well, I believe it is bundled in with the OneCare subscription.

I picked up a copy for $15 at Fry's not too long ago. I have also seen it on sale numerous times in the $20-$30 range.

I have it running on a couple of work systems and it seems to run fine. No complaints so far.

About a month ago Circuit City had it for $9.99 out the door no rebates. I've been using it since the closed beta. It beats Norton and McAfee. No bloat from MS, yet.

I'd rather trust a third party for security software. MS should focus their efforts on allowing fewer exploits in the first place and leave the cleanup to the existing security companies.
