Does anyone use a Zip or Jaz drive anymore?

I was cleaning out some boxes and found my OLD zip drive, 100MB disk Parallalel edition drive!

It was slow, but I was paranoid back then to backup some of the files in my 10gig HD on my P-100.

I am trying to figure out why would I use one now...I hate all those USB keys, and I backup to DVD.

So I really don't have a purpose for mine. Maybe I'll put it on my PC museum.

I don't use one anymore. I don't even have one anymore. I figure if ever there comes another time when I need to transport projects to and from a lab, then I might use Zip again. But... now keychain USB drives are cheap as heck, and we've had CD burners for a long while now. I just don't see the point.

I had a customer come into the store the other day looking for a new computer. As they ran through their list of requirements, one of the items they touched upon was a Zip drive.... I calmly explained to them that it's near impossible to find on any computer in their price range. I suggested a move to CD-RW :)

I use mine for saving files at school but I got a usb jump drive for Christmas so my usage may be going down.

My zip drive got a bad case of "The clicks of death". I ruined many a disk on that drive. USB key drives have become so much cheaper, and for archive purposes nothing beats a CDR or CDRW, save a DVDR or DVDRW. I make periodic backups of my research work to CDR.

I have a usb Zip 100 that I bought at Walley World for $40 on clearance.

Still use it from time to time, about once a month.

Have a parrallel zip 100 in a box in the garage also. Obviously I dont use that one.

All the GX260 and GX270 editing stations at school have Zip250's. I don't use them too much, but the students use them to death. It's the only way to move audio data between the video stations and the audio stations. And it's always a laugh to watch someone trying to use the GX150 Internet station to print some homework or somthing, they can NEVER find the floppy drive and keep trying to put it in the zip drive.
