If you run F@H, you know that QMD cores run really fast, and have a high PPD, but only P4's can runt them, due to the compiler issues. Well, I want to change the CPUID on my proc, to see if I can run QMD's on my X2, since its SSE3 compatbile and everything...so does anyone have that program? I remember seeing here before...

Ive had the same thought before, and looked into it some, best I could find that supported k8 were programs like dragnott (which crashed my pc by the way) which could change the cpu string (e.g. AMD Athlon 64 3200+) but not the needed vendor string (e.g. AuthenticAMD to GenuineIntel, wcpuid shows this string, cpuz doesn't) which is what F@H will look at along with supported instructions. It would definately be a boon for F@H users if a program is available that can do it though I dont know how, its my understanding that the cpu string is actually copied into memory on startup and this is what dragnott changes, but that the vendor string is read directly from the cpu every time. I could be wrong about all of it, thats just kinda what i remember of my adventure to find the same thing you are looking for.
