Does anyone really use Heatware anymore??

eBay is fine for... (wait for it...).... eBay transactions!

Heat is great for everything else. Much more flexible, sortof moderated (if you can get hold of Heat23) and backed by several forums.

Beerology is another one I'd trust, but I don't personally use it.

well im totally fine with a new AT trader using ebay instead of heat. but you will have to use heat eventually here, you cant leave ebay feedback for an AT transaction so its a good way to keep track of non ebay transactions.

Yeah, I use HeatWare exclusively. If someone doesn't have Heat that's fine I just ask them to get it so I can leave them a reference and they can start off their Heat.

Uh... I consider one heatware eval to be worth 25 ebay evals. Sorry, but I use both Ebay and trade on various forums and that's just the way I feel. Maybe because in my experience, people on computer forums are way more trustworthy than your average Ebay user.

I don't ever go by eBay feedback. You could have 100000 positive eBay feedbacks and I still wouldn't ship first or send my money first to you.

Learn to read please. I said Ebay users in general are not trustworthy, that is by experience. By EXPERIENCE, forum users are generally much more reliable. I generally think forum members are the smarter end of the population, and less likely to screw you on a deal. This is from my EXPERIENCE.

the only way i accept ebay feedback is if i can click their name on ebay ask them about our pending anandtech deal, adn they reply. other than that ebay feedback isnt that useful since it could be anyone.


tons of people still use heatware, its in use on many message boards and very well done. i have used it a LOT as you can see by my heat. I was going to donate some stuff to them , they deserve it but apparently they arent taking donations anymore.

Heat is more universal, i only have like 6 Ebay refs cause i hardly ever use ebay, if im trying to sell something i try here first, i have 19 heats
