I think I remember something like the "Tiger effect" where you could slightly manipulate the ball in mid air. Playing off the habit of golfers to "talk" to the ball after their shot. "Get left!" "Sit down, sit down..." "Break! Break!". I don't remember the controls though, I only played the game once or twice.
