6 hours 28 minutes battery life?

Once a new Dell coupon comes out might be time to sell my 700m.

Right now, I have a 300m and looking to upgrade.

Unless I can find a loaded model for under $900 I'll probably keep my 700m until some more blockbuster Dell coupons are released.

Does this offer internal Bluetooth?

in the Dell 630m its optional.

Ok good.

I think my biggest gripes with the (small) 700m are addressed in the 630M/M140:
4 USB/FireWire instead of 2/1
Most likely larger keyboard
Larger display although the 12.1 is fine with me
Internal BT offered right now my options are USB or PCMCIA card
Longer battery life is always a plus

About 1.5 pounds heavier and I'm fine with that.

Oh, I was mainly quoting EvilYoda.

And on another note, why does Dell rate the 630m's battery so low? The original 600m had 3 hours of battery life, unless that is considered low by today's standards.

a 6 hr battery life is not low by todays standards

I'd say anything less than 2.5 or 3 hours is low by my standards.

I wonder how long the 6 cell lasts? I'd probably pay $129 for the additional 9 cell so you can have both.

Once it hits the $800-$900 range for a spec'd out model, I'll seriously consider upgrading.

WTF is with new notebooks only having integrated graphics? The 600m I have has a Radeon 9100, but now the 630 only offers the Intel crap? The new z60t from Lenovo (which I *LOVE*) only lets you get X300 graphics on the largescreen model, and not on the 14" model.

I'm not a gamer (except for Simpsons: Hit and Run) so it doesn't really bother me.

Efficiency and long battery life is more important and graphics prowress.

Because we're discussing portable business-class notebooks here.

Discrete graphics are better fit for desktop replacement / gaming notebooks. They're pricier, heavier, hotter, and less power efficient.

Besides, what exactly are you going to do with an X300 that you can't do with Intel IGP?

I know it may not be the most powerful IGP and it probably still won't have dedicated memory, but I like ATI's video acceleration and drivers better than Intel's stuff. It makes a difference when watching DVDs or AVIs encoded with divx/xvid. And the point I was making is that the older models (600m and Thinkpad T42) all offered discrete graphics, but the new ones don't because of Intel's tactics with 9xx chipsets.
