Does anyone own GBA SP/DS Movie/MP3 player card?

AnyMal

This is what I'm talking about. The price is tempting but I'm wondering if it's a worthy add-on or a waste of money. How well does it work? How good is the software?

Any feedback will be appreciated.

I have the older version of the Movie Player. Great device. And for only $25 (from lik sang), also a great value. Video quality is surprisingly good on the GBA SP screen. The biggest problem with this is the software used to convert files. It is bloody slow. On my P4c 3.4GHz, files only convert at 1.5x. So unless you have fast enough CPU, expect to convert all your files overnight or when you're away from the computer. If you goto the Lik-Sang web page, you can download the software and try it out before you get the Movie Player. There is also couple of videos of the Movie Player in action.

I was looking at getting that for my sister, but from the reviews I read, it seemed like it took too much technical knowledge for a kid to use.

I ended up getting a portable DVD player for $80. 5" screen, plays MP3-CD's... bulky, but overall a better option in my opinion.

That said, the GBA player does look pretty darn cool.

Thanks for all the feedback so far. I think I'll take the plunge and get it. My wife just bought me Nintendo DS and the screen quality is notch above GBA SP plus CF cards are getting dirt cheap with a 1GB card that can be had for little more then $50.00
