Does anyone need a real time stock app for the iphone?

How realtime is this and where are you getting the streams from? Usually the data is delayed by 20 mins or more.

It depends on the timing of the heartbeat tick, but there there is a hard max of 10sec delayed. On average I would say 1-2 seconds given the overhead of the service, connections and parsing on the device.

Pretty cool man, congrats to you. Have you seen Portfolio Live? I'm assuming so, but something to look at if not for features. Yours is obviously priced much lower.

I'd also be curious to know how you're getting the quotes. I've used OpenTick for real-time data, but haven't looked at the dev environment for AAPL long enough to know how you'd do that.

I don't know what that means and I don't think you're getting my question :)

1. What's your data feed source?
2. What is the delay time between stock prices at the actual exchanges vs. stock prices displayed in your app?

Another question. Does it do international exchanges? For example can you see Korean stock prices?

Are you going to release it for the Blackberry Apps store as well?

Google Finance in the Safari browser is still the best for me.

If yours was free I'd get it.

..it's $1..

Iphone dev license costs $100... it would be hard to recoup my costs be selling things for free. ;)

Well I don't think people will use it to constantly watch the stock market for hours... It's more of replacement for the default stock app, since the quotes there are delayed 20mins.

Even OpenTick has problems delivering their data in realtime, I've seen quotes up to 15 minutes delayed because of their network.. but for the most part I only see a couple of seconds delay. Either way, OpenTick is total overkill for a simple streaming quote app... I doubt the user would care to see every tick :)

My train of though exactly - it's kind of the same reason you don't need real-time chart and such. This app isn't meant for trading, it just gives you up-to-date info.

Looks like a clean app. I would definitely pick it up if I paid attention to stocks!

GJ! I'll throw a review your way next time I think of it. (Or do I need to buy it to do reviews?)
