Does anyone make BLACK televisions anymore?

Does anyone make BLACK televisions anymore?

It seems like every TV, DVD player, etc. made in the last few years is SILVER. (Walk in to any electronics store and you will see what I mean.)

I'm just looking for a new BLACK flat-screen tube tv (around 36" to 40"). Silver is just more distracting than black and does not blend as well into a room.

Are there any manufacturers out there still making BLACK flat-screen tube TVs?

My parents bought a black Panasonic Tau for the spare bedroom not too long ago. I suppose it's not really black so much as charcoal or dark grey.

link I don't remember what size they bought, but I think it's the 32.

afaik most manufacturers make black for normal picture tubes and silver for flat. I'm sure they make some black flat screens though. Why? Beats me

My brother has an ugly silver Sony Vega, I liked the black ones (which I have) that came before the Vega...

i thought you meant Black Entertainment TV .. hahah..

My Sharp is black but it's a bit old. Around 4 years.

Good point though, DVDdude.

I think my Trinitron would look way cooler if it was in a charcoal black. What's gay is that everyone conformed to Sony once those new Trinitron's came out in 2000 and were silver. I totally recall seeing a JVC black when I went to go buy my new Trinitron back in 2000 and coming back for something to see a Sony-look-alike JVC in silver. I'm not knocking JVC because I think they're a good company but I think it's bull that they can't make their own designs. I dunno, I could be wrong.

Why is it that most computers and monitors now are BLACK? A beige Samsung 191T at Newegg costs more than a black one.

If you ask me, I think it's a poor name just because of that argument. Wega, Vega, they both mean the same thing: awesome TV.

I remember this guy at work, he was one of those know it all types. He insisted that it was pronounced "way-ga." I told him that wasn't the case. He told me that he heard it pronounced that way on a Sony commercial and that it said so on the website. 😀

It looks like two Vs, supposed to be a stylized W.
