Does anyone make a touchpad for a desktop machine?

Look no farther. I used one of these POS devices years ago when it was a serial connection - in general toughpads are, for me, an abomination. I disable them in my laptops. 🙂

Looking for a touchpad similar to one on a laptop. USB connection to be used on a regular desktop.

IBM makes a super nice one... Has the ThinkPad keyboard on it and both touchpad and trackpoint.

A nice what? Keyboard/touchpad combo? I like the trackpoint - beats a touchpad, but not as good as a scrolling mouse. How much? Give us a linky.

On my desktops I use Wacom Graphire pads - much more accurate than fingers. 🙂

Thanks for all the help.
Dan, I am just looking for the touchpad itself, no keyboard.

Corkey, Was this the exact one you bought that you said is a POS? I didn't see anywhere that mentioned the connection type.

The link I gave you was for a new model USB device. My POS was about 5-6 years ago, and was a serial device. It worked, but in general I find touchpads annoying and imprecise. But that was in UK. Here is the USA version:

Check out the Wacom Graphire - you get a wireless mouse for macro work and aprecision stylus for micro work.

On my laptop, Ihave disabled the touchpad - it is annoying because when I rest my hands on the front pad, it touches and any movement screws up my insertion point.Cat USA Wacom

Wow, I can't believe they want $60+ for those things. I have one lying around also, picked it up at a garage sale or something. I works, but not quite as well as the one on my laptop.

Had a Memorex touchpad (serial port) from Compusa, $10 after rebate, few years ago.
It sucks, the driver and software (for signature) are buggy.
