Does anyone like Tim McCarver?

I haven't come across one person who says they like him, let alone thinks he's any good.

How has he been working so long?

Dunno who he is and too lazy to Google it even though I'm not too lazy to reply saying I don't know who he is.

He overanalyzes everything. Used to do Mets broadcasts so I know him well. It's good when you care about the game of baseball...

I like him. However, I really love to listen to Morgan, he is always on the money with his commentary and is a great guy.

Tim's a good man.
I have no doubt that he's a nice guy, but I'm talking about his broadcast style.

Most of the people I've spoken to over the past few days said they wish they had a way of turning off the sportscasters. Tim being the primary offender.

Turn off the TV and turn on the radio. Baseball is the only sport that I enjoy as much, if not more, by listening to the game, regardless of whether or not I have TV around. As a kid, I must have listened to 120-140 Mets games on the radio and loved every second of it (no tv broadcasts for the Mets in FL at that time)

As quoted in the Hall of Fame (roughly), "Baseball is the only game you can see on the radio".

No, but I LOVE Joe Buck.

shama-lama DING dong! he should do that during the games, not just in the commercial. with his abnormally large melon bobbing around on his tiny body.

The whole Fox crew sucks, McCarver is like their doofus leader.. and god, won't anyone tell him it looks like there's a dead wild animal on his head? You'd think he makes enough cash to not have Ron Popeil spray-on hair :Q

He's bad- states the obvious, and makes up stuff like "a walk in the 9th inning is as bad as giving up a home run". No, its really not. He doesn't bring much insight to the game, and he's not very colorful, so I'm not exactly sure why he's there.

Anyway, I would love to see NBC get the playoffs back so they could have Bob Costas and Bob Ueker pair up again.
