I don't know if this qualifies as highly technical or not, but I'm having serious trouble finding the correct drivers for the Promise FastTrak 100 TX4 PCI RAID controller card.
When I was about to redo my system, I went to the promise site and looked through it to see if I'll find the newest drivers (and some drivers for XP too, because those didn't come with the card), and the only ones I found were under the TX2, but stated that they were also for the TX4 and actually loaded the TX4 Win2000PRO/WinXP PRO setup files. However, those drivers were no good when I tried installing either OS, because neither OS would actually recognize the array. It took me a whole day to figure out that the drivers I had downloaded were the problem I was having (after contacting both Promise and Tyan tech support unsuccessfully). When I did realize, I just dug up the original driver discs that came with the card and everything worked smoothly with them. However, there don't seem to be any WinXP Pro drivers on the original discs. It has Win9x-ME, Win NT4 and Win2K Pro, but not XP.
I've looked through the Promise site as well as their FTP site, but wasn't able to come up with anything for the TX4 at all (well, except for the nonworking driver).
Would any of you happen to know if and where this WinXP Pro driver is available? It would be a great help, as it's Sunday and I can't call Promise tech support (not that they would be much help)...
