Does anyone know what's wrong with my foot?

I hurt it playing tackle football 2 weeks ago without any pads ( yes stupid I know :) ) I think it was hurt from me tackling someone or being tackled, not sure as the pain was subtle until about 20 minutes after I stopped playing. It is not the ankle, it is a real bad soreness on the bottom of the foot that hurts to jump and run after I run a few laps around the track. I have tried icing it and it really does not help that much at all.. I asked my friends earlier this morning at football practice if I should see a doctor, and they all were like no it's alright.. I really want to get this foot 100% because it is very painful doing football drills.

No I'm serious!! I really don't know if I should, and my schedule is pretty busy. I mean what is he going to do , x-ray it?? It's painful for sure, but I am still able to run.

If it's serious and you don't visit a doctor, you'll regret it for sure. You can wait a bit longer and see whether the pain decreases, but if it doesn't, visit a doctor as quickly as possible!

If its an acute injury chances are it will go away by itself, though foot injuries may heal slower because of the constant stresses. Sometimes it takes 4-8 weeks I think. But I think that we would all encourage you to see the doctor if the pain worsens, or doesn't subside within a reasonable amount of time.

you never know what it is - could be a stress fracture... playing more on it could be a lot worse for you... get xrays just to be sure... i broke my arm once and continued to play basketball and then when i got home i touched where i hurt it and the bone moved... then i decided to go to the hospital...

Could be a number of things, but boils down to this: GET AN X-RAY.

Only way to tell the difference between sprain/strain or fracture is an X-ray, and if your family Dr. isn't real good @ reading X-rays, a radiologist should interpret it.

Since it's been 2 weeks and it's still bothering you, I'd say it's doctor time, though an orthodontist might not be able to help since they specialize in the "practice of preventing and correcting irregularities of the teeth, as by the use of braces."
:p

I think ya mean orthopedist. :);)

Hmmm.......interesting that you've found an orthodontist who specializes in feet. That might explain why my mechanic had his dipstick in my wife.
