Does anyone know what VISA's PCI Background check requirements are?

Probably a long shot, but does anyone know what VISA's requirements are for their PCI (Payment Card Industry) standards for people working with/around their data? From what I understand they perform "background checks" on the people, and apparently it has some/all to do with your credit report, but I can't find any information on what they consider to be "acceptable". In other words, if you have a score of 650 or something, do they say "nope, you're a risk?" or is it based on more than just score? Does anyone have any ideas?

Actually it's not that at all...more like the place I'm currently working at suddenly dropped on everyone today that beginning this week everyone (meaning all current employees) will be subjected to this, but we have no information on what it entails or what happens if you don't pass.
