Does anyone know what the threading is on camera tripod screws?

As part of my Cantenna project, I was looking to buy one of those table-top camera tripods, but I need to know what the threading is.

No idea. I believe it's an industry standard though.

EDIT: Google reveals 1/4" might be the standard threading. Can't be sure though.

K. I might jsut take it to home depot and use their thread matcher jiggs.

1/4". It's some wierd British standard. I've made a vise-tripod (ghetto) and bottle cap tripod (fill a 2liter coke bottle with water, definately useful) out of parts from Home Depot before.

IIRC, they're called Whitworth bolts. Should be available from a camera specialty shop if you can't find the right thread at your hardware store.
