I'm thinking about buying this to replace my 8 year old Aver TVPhone98 PCI card.

This isnt a PCI solution, but it comes in between your TV source and your monitor.
the company's site isnt very...how should i say...online, so here's the information i have:

(left out marketing BS)

I have a Samsung 204B 20.1" LCD and my 9 year old card does 768x576 which looks blurry and almost interlaced. So an upgrade to 1280x1024 looks godly to me.

I dont mind that it isnt a DVR, but i do mind that it has external power adapter. i already have too many plugs into my electricity sockets.

anyone has experience working with this product or similar-type converters?

Thanks.

I doubt it will be any better than your tuner card. It won't make the video source any better. Also, you can tweak things like deinterlacing, color, etc with a PCI card, but probably not much tweaking with this thing.
