I'm looking for suppliers that are actually located in Canada to avoid international shipping and duty charges. Thanks.

Onvia.com. Free Purolator shipping, good prices, and good customer service. They have a 15% restocking charge unless it's broken.

Wow. All those places aren't actually "cheap"!

Don't purchase anything from Bigfootcomputers. They don't have anything in stock, and even though it says they do, its only a front. A few months ago, they were doing a web page design contest. I submitted my design and won. They DID not send me my prize, infact forced me to do their entire site. I refused. They are a cheap ass Toronto based company that didn't want to even fork over the prize and wanted a free web design. They somehow got someone else to do the site, but thats none of my business.

If anyone is interested this was my submission. Yes its still up ;)

A friend of mine had problems with Bigfootcomputers too. They sent him the wrong product and made him pay for shipping to send it back. What a bunch of a$$holes.

I suggest you report your bad experiences to www.resellerratings.com so that others are warned.

Hey thanks for the links everyone.:) Keep 'em coming if you would recommend a Canadian online supplier.

Looks like I'll avoid Bigfootcomputers too.

Sporko, just how many Canadian online suppliers do you think there are? The only other little-known store that I know of that ships is Computer Ultra, but they focus almost solely on CD burners and media.

I've met the fella who runs Bigfoot Computers in person after ordering a Socket 370 Golden Orb and Sunon case fan. Went down there and picked it up the same day, no problems at all. He was talking about have a ton of problems earlier with storm damage to his house, where he runs the business out of his basement. Then again, you guys are describing problems related to shipping, which wasn't a factor in my dealings.

Also, you can jump directly to Onvia's Canadian site a bit quicker by directing your browser to onvia.ca.

we stock plenty dexion, we're not a front, we've been at this 14 years. I've almost had enough of you and this slander all over the web.

www.dex-design.com ... well after icq'ng you two months ago begging for something to get done with our design, it's nice to see you have responded.

If you recall, I gave you no less han 3 months to respond to me so we could finish the site redesign...nothing. You disappeared and left me in the lurch. After begging, pleading and plenty of head scratching I had to figure you had moved on. I was way behind on this project and couldn't wait for you to respond any longer.

I certainly did feel like I was roped in and couldn't get a finished product. Since you didn't follow through with your committment, you can't really expect to get paid. My ICQ logs show that we gave you plenty of opportunity, I'm sorry that we couldn't work something out.

I'd appreciate it if you could stop spreading what isn't the whole story. It isn't professional to say the least.

Fastvideo if you get this let me know, you didn't have your profile on.

We don't charge any credit cards until product ships. In the event that you were charged let me know and we'll fix it up and save you the hassle of dealing with your credit card company.

Again this isn't our store policy. If we made a mistake, it's a mistake.

I'd like to get the chance to correct this if we were at fault. You can email me off-forum if you like.

i feel very bad that we have to fix problems like this in this forum.
i will sent my original email to you, so you know that i am not lying .

but paying $82.33 for two months getting nothing is not a very good feeling!!!

if we are running a business that is very bad.

Well, I have never ordered from bigfootcomputers, but you know what they say about bad word of mouth. And in the case of bigfootcomputers, the word of mouth that I have received through friends who ordered from them is not very good at all.

I don't think I'm willing to take that chance. I'm sticking with Onvia.ca. Good prices (especially with coupons) and free shipping.

The best Canadian online store is GBcomp (www.gbcomp.com), they have very low prices and the shipping is 15$ and it doesnt go up as you buy more stuff...
The web site sucks but the prices and service rock...

Personal experience 5 orders from Onvia, 1 from Atic, 1 from buy.com.
Stock issues with both buy and onvia, but what they do have is quickly shipped.
No major problems but some delays in tracking, invoicing, and shipping with Onvia, plus a price error. Despite these headaches Onvia is a top choice.
Atic is infamous for bad service, but about as cheap as they come.

Can't order online with some or even with cc via phone in some cases.
Also, most charge a premium for using credit cards - about 3%.

Anitec and Premier (pccanada) are the frontrunners for my mobo, RAM, and Tbird 900 upcoming purchase.
