Try visiting the manufacturers site and getting the latest drivers from them

Only one problem with that, that I can see. How am I to know which drvers to get. I only know the manufactury of the parts not the specific models. And the E-machines website does not even list this machine, so I am out of luck there too, as far as I can tell.

Hey tristramshandy, thanks.

I actually have Norton Utilites around here, and I didn't even know that it was included. I mostly use it for the anti-virus.

Thanks again

Your next approach would be to open the case: if the ATI video and crystal sound are onboard, then you should get the brand name and serial number of the motherboard, which is usually stenciled onto the board somewhere around the pci slots. You find this information and head to the board manufacturer. If the video and sound are on separate pci slots, then you may need to disconnect the computer and remove the cards to find out what their stenciled makes and models are.

Or you could contact the person who put your rig together and demand that he supply a little tech support.

HEHE, I am the one doing the tech support, its a friends computer. I would not be caugt dead with this POS. It looks just like an IMAC, made by E-Machines though and sporting x86 arctecture. However it looks like the CDrom just bit the dust. Guess I will have to take it aparat now, and that my friends is a complete B#*(ch.

Thanks

Yes I do believe they were sued. Not sure if Apple won the case or not though. I would suspect they did because this model is not even listed on E-Machines's website. And to make matters worse this was a floor demo, so who knows what type of abuse it sustained before she got it a couple of years ago. Good thing I hooked her up with a nice new duron 800 system.

So now all I need to know is what the modem is. When I had it apart I did not see any chip that was for the modem:Q. And Norton systemworks 2001 doesn't know what it is. Short of taking it back apart is there anyway I can find out what type it is.

Thanks
