Does anyone know of a good detoxifier?

I am trying to remove toxins from my body. Mainly nicotene. I am on my fourth day of not smoking and would like to get the rest of the gunk out of my system.

Thanks!

A good detoxifier is breathing; living. This idea that people need to detox is one of the health industry's latest fads.

If I write "Kinoki" on some gauze, will you give me $20 through paypal for it? Send me a PM if interested 😀

I have been drinking tons of water, I have done cardio twice a day and I don't believe those "Kinoki" things work. I heard that taking Goldenseal works, has anyone had luck with this supplement?

Charcoal tablets and milk thistle are the only anti-toxin supplements I've heard proven effective. Even then, they're not a "detox" like you see on infomercials.

Like skoorb said, "detox" is on the level with colonics. They don't really do anything you can't get through eating healthy and exercising; unless you're talking about hospital drug-detox which is quite real and correspondingly expensive.

Eat fiber, or take fiber capsules. If you want natural, go for psyllium husks. They're fairly common; you can find them at almost any GNC/health store or Whole Foods. I personally use these at the dosage on the bottle (6 capsules once per day).

Note: Drink plenty of water when you take them (as in a full glass), otherwise your shits will probably be hard/painful and you'll get painful gas up the arse (literally).

As for effects, I basically have one huge healthy (described the shape/texture/color of the stools to my doctor and he approved) shit every 24 hours. Depending on what I eat during the day, that's pretty much it.

word. i'm as regular as the tokyo to osaka bullet train. i feel bad for people who aren't.

I have a friend who detoxed last summer. She said it was pretty effective, but a few months later, she developed all kinds of crazy food allergies that she never had before. I don't remember what she used either.

I don't know if the new allergies are linked to her detox or not, but I'm spooked.

The allergies are probably linked to a case of the crazies.

CONCUR.

The charcoal tabs mentioned above are for when something is in the digestive tract. I don't know whether they're of any benefit at all once something's been digested, but they really are used for overdose patients, not somebody who's been eating bigmacs for a decade.

Charcoal pills right after heavy drinking is a godsend. No hangovers next morning.

Detoxification stuff is bullcrap. Depending on what it is, it can destroy the healthy bacterial flora in your digestive system, which can really screw you up. The only way to do a legitimate detox involves water, greens, rest, and exercise.

I do believe the current detox thing is more of a fad than anything else.
If you are serious, go to the bookstore and get something from the health section.
READ THE ENTIRE BOOK before you do anything. Understand the book. If you see something you dont like or doesnt make sense, thats your survivial instinct kicking in, telling you not to be a fucking moron.

Anything healthy will ask you to increase your green vegetables and such. If they ask you to put really weird shit in your body or deliberately starve, its bullshit. Lose the book. Same for any books that tell you to go buy a specific brand of something or other. They are scam artists in cahoots with each other.

(I like Barnes & Noble, you can read about 3/4 of a book before they kick your ass out.)

My mum said she detoxed way back and she just ate brown rice and something else that i can't remember along with plenty of water. Apparently the 1st few days she felt quite rough but after that she felt wonderful..

I'll try and find out what the something else was and update.

I don't get it, what could possibly be superior to eating a healthy clean balanced diet (not just eating green vegetables only and water or something else unsustainable like some 'detox' diets suggest) along with tons of water, good exercise and good sleep? How could chemicals/pills be any better? They can't.

There is no magical pill that will solve all your bodily problems.

Eat right, don't smoke, exercise, take a shower, pop a mint in your mouth and clean your clothes. No one likes smelly people. Especially smokers. 😱

Who cares if something is natural or not? A lot of TOXIC stuff is ALL NATURAL.
