Does anyone know if you can make purchases as 'kiosks' in Staples?

Somewhere I read/heard (can't remember which) that you can place orders at staples kiosks and use coupon codes that may be denied to you online.

Does anyone know if this is possible? I haven't seen any kiosks at Staples.

Thanks.

Most Staples have a kiosk. It's most likely it's just a computer connected to the staples website. You will have to ask a rep in most cases. Online coupons work in the store. I'm not sure about those $20/$20 off coupons.

Is there some way you can use the kiosk (with coupons) and pay cash at the store...

Yes, that's how I bought my Compaq Presario 1500T laptop. They let me stack about 3 coupons PLUS two $100 MIR's to get an incredible deal :D

An order confirmation printed out, I went to the register and paid using my cc.

No you don't need a Staples.com account (but you can use one if you wish). You can print out the order at the "kiosk" and pay at the checkout register.

Dang funny user icon again RossMan.

So you didn't need to identify yourself with anything that would show staples you used a coupon already? I can create a name on-the-fly?

AFAIK you don't LOGIN to Staples.com when you make a purchase at the kiosk, just purchase, print out, pay at register.

Again, there is no LOGGING IN.

I didn't know you didn't have to log in, but I still will for my business rewards:D

You can have your rewards card swiped at the register when you checkout (or they can manually punch in the number into the register if necessary). In fact, strangely enough, my kiosk purchases were recorded at the item full list prices regardless of the coupons I used at checkout. Needless to say, I'll be upgraded to "Gold" status with my next purchase. :D

-You don't need a staples.com account.. you just click express checkout and type your shipping info

Does that mean they still let you shop there then?

Questions about Business Rewards:

When I'm upgraded to Gold status, I get free shipping on all orders. How exactly does this happen? As soon as I've purchased $1K, will I be instantly upgraded effective for subsequent orders? Or do I have to wait for the current quarter to close? And what do I have to do to get free shipping? Just have my reward number in my Staples.com profile?

I don't think there is a "list" they refer to. My Staples.com account is simply flagged, I could avoid it but why bother. Just order using my wife's name and cc :D

Just because you order at a kiosk doesn't mean you can stack multiple coupons. Any alert cashier will pick up on that.

(and yes, the staples.com kiosk is where many non-employees have made their mark...transferring large amounts of clearance/pre-clearance merchandise into their local stores for purchasing and resale.)

You would have to wait till the end of the quater for your 1,000 dollar limit to kick in... for phone orders all you have to do is mention that you are a gold member and they will waive the shipping charge... for .com orders i believe you should just be able to enter you rewards number and it should know that you are a gold member and waive that shipping fee.. i can look into that one though for you

Can the kiosk be used for items that are in stock? It seems like its purpose is to order non-stock or out-of-stock items.

I want to use a couple of coupon codes for in-stock items but I'm afraid they'll ask me to provide the cashier with the printable coupon which, sadly, I must have "lost"...
