Dell doesn't normally pick up the latest and greatest stuff. Once prices come down and everyone else gets them, then they probably will too.

Just buy one and slam it in, they all use the same ATAPI connector. you just need to use the sled/tray/rails from the old drive

Don't count on it anytime soon. There's not enough volume on those drives to warrant it yet.

You can even find Compaq laptops with DVDRW now.
