I can run it under win2k. But only if you add the command line argument -nocanary to the viper racing.exe.

I installed it on my friends WinXP PC and works just fine.

Viper Racing is a classic that still plays very well when compared to other modern driving sims. Just make sure you have the Viper GTS mod ;)

Best. . .driving. . .sim. . .ever. . .

I wasted so much time on this game the first 18 months it came out. This was the game that forced me to buy a steering wheel (MS FF Wheel) because it was that damn good. If anyone remembers the single-player career mode, I'm sure we'll all agree that Nussbaum can go to hell. :|

agreed. Now if they could only do a Viper Racing Carmagedon 2002 game with HUGE maps, I would be happy.

Edit the shortcut on your desktop (or create one) and add -nocanary at the end of the shortcut path.

And it has analog clutch support, which is mighty cool, although I think its a bit more forgiving than in a real car.

I think we all agree, the game has great physics. That means a lot for my style of playing since I despise the "arcade" style of physics that you get with most other driving sims.

Having said that, one area that needed addressing was gravity. The in game gravity was too low and the car was twitchy because of that. What I did was edit the .INI file on the line that referenced to "gravity"... increase that to 3.0 (if I remember right) and you now had a more realistic gravity and better corner grip!

Since I no longer have the game installed, I can't remember the details.
