I remember when they first came out, I was just a kid. I recall waiting in line at lunch time to buy a package of them for .45. I'd buy tons of them and take them back to school and sell them for 1.00.

It's funny you should mention that. Pop Rocks inventor William A. Mitchell died just a couple of weeks ago at age 92. I don't think he ever got rich from Pop Rocks due to the nagging exploding stomach rumors, although I imagine he was pretty well off from his illustrious food science career.
