Does anyone know if Dell provides support for upgrading Inspiron video card?

Has anyone ever done anything like this? the reason i got a 5200 in the first place was because it was a preconfigured special.

If they do support this, they will charge twice as much for the radeon 9600 as you will find it elsewhere... If you still have a warranty you want to keep, talk to dell and see if having a certified tech install it will keep the warranty.

Post in the SFF/notebook forum next time. The answer is "no". The only laptops for which Dell has ever offered upgradeable graphics are the Inspiron XPS and the Inspiron 9100, preferring most of the time to solder the graphics card to the motherboard. I've seen limited reports of success by individuals upgrading their own Inspiron 8200 and other models, but you're on your own and you void your warranty in the attempt.
