Does anyone know how to submit a web page to Google?

Howdy people :)

I tried to submit a friend's web page onto Google, and so far it has not worked properly. It was submitted in September, and so far it only appears when I type in the address in the search engine, but none of the "key words" can find it. I followed the instructions to the letter, and waited patiently.

So far the only place to really accept it has been Netscape's Open Directory Project (DMOZ) located here www.dmoz.org.

Does anyone have any ideas regarding Google? He would really like to get his web page onto some search engines which would help boost his business, especially at this time of year.

This is his website by the way DrGolf I do not know if his main page is affected because it is being redirected somewhere else when you go to view the source of the page. When I go to Google I have to type in "drgolf.ca" just to get his page to come up, and there is no summary of what the page is about.

Thank you for your help :)

Even if you submit it your friend needs to have a decent pagerank (at least 3) for it to mean anything.

i set up a website about a certain online extended auto warranty company that went bankrupt. On it, I had a message board - created it all in Frontpage.

I submitted the site to all the major search engines.. Well, as people added messages and replies, that generated more and more links. Within a month or so, my site was ranked 1st when looking for info on that particular company.

Purely unintentional, but it worked.

I followed the site submission by google for adding the site(2 months ago), but it only comes up when you type in 'drgolf.ca' in the search engine and hit submit. When I try key words nothing comes up at all.

It appears on 'www.dmoz.org' properly, but google has it as just a link with no description as to what the web page is about.

I am wondering if it may have to do with the fact that the web address 'www.drgolf.ca' is actually being re-directed to another web site that is actually hosting the web page?[\b]

The 'www.drgolf.ca' page does not have any META Tags, but the actuall page has all of the META tags... could there be an issue because it is being re-directed?

Thanks :)

Well...

Google is working fine. The reason it isn't coming up more is because Google doesn't consider it to be a relevant site.

The redirect is a problem - host the site and put the content there, not on registerfly.

The frames are a problem - there is no content on drgolf.ca, so there is nothing to index.

Getting good listing on google is much more involved than simply submitting the site.

Also, there are many companies that make a living by submitting sites to search engines. Now days, it isn't exactly easy. It's not a simple form you fill out and wait for it to processed.

I would also guess that golf, golf equipment , etc. are fairly huge categories with a ton of sites. Good luck making progress. It's not an easy thing to do.

Thank you all for the help and input :)

Are there any good guides to read about "how to set up your own server for web hosting" or something to that effect?

Thanks again :)

One more idea :)

What if I were to add all of the META TAGS to the page that has the re-direction on it, put it before the re-direction. Would that also make a simple fix and a difference?
