Can anyone help me ?
I'm trying to overclock my Duron700 but with my MSI K7Tpro mainboard .
The only thing I can change is the FSB speed and even if I set this higher than 105 Mhz my system becomes unstable.
System :
MSI K7T Pro
Duron 700
128 MB SDRAM pc100
Geforce 2 MX (Hercules)
Thank you !!!

Unfortunately, the OCing features of the MSI board are a bit lacking. The FSB speed will hardly get you any where. Probably the only way to go is to manually cut and connect the bridges on the CPU so that the board will "recognize" it as a faster processor. This is not easy with a 700, since a lot of bridge cutting will be involved. If you really want to OC, you can either do that or get another board that can adjust the multiplier.

Personally, I thought of doing the same. I tested the CPU on an A7V to determine its top stable speed, and then wanted to see what settings i should set using the bridges. I then found that doing that would be way too much work, and seeing that it wasn't even my comp, I wasn't going to bother. But this is not a bad approach if you know someone with an Asus or ABit board.

modify MSI k7tpro board n u can OC.

u can adjust core voltage w/ L7 bridges (connect all = 1.85V)
u can adjust FID (clock upperbound) w/ L6 bridges (connect all = 1050MHz)
u can adjust BP_FID (clock) w/ L1 bridges (connect all = OC enable)
u can adjust BP_FID (clock) w/ soldering on mother board

go to this n read only about BP_FID

Thanks , I tried the website for more info but it looks a bit too risky.
I think i'll leave it the way it is.
Thanks anyway.
