does anyone know how to open a *.wps file? can you help me?

hey there fellas. my daughter wrote her homework up at school while waiting for me to pick her up (i was voting) and saved it to a disk. the only problem is that the file is a *.wps file. i have word and corel, but neither can handle this file.
i tired opening w/ notebook and that didn't help much either.
please help!

teheh i guess i forgot to ask if anyone had works and if so could they open the file and copy paste the text as a regular e-mail.

Can't you just open it as text and remove all the formatting? If it's not long it shouldn't be hard at all. I don't have Works or I'd say I'll do it...

Office 2000 seems to reecognize the file. Wanna send it over? What format do you want it back in? Word 97? RTF? TXT?

you can send it back as a word file.
i have office2000 too, but when i chose to open the file it just gave me a whole lot of gibberish and some column breaks- ugh!

I have a standard install of Office2k and also the install CDs.
I'll also be up all night doing my stupid linear algebra pset.

I'd also suggest checking out the MS webpage to see if there's a converter update???

Funny thing is now I'm in the same boat. I just received a WPS file of a term paper that I'm supposed to read.

Hope Word '97 can do it, else I'm SOL until I get home tonight.
