does anyone know how to decipher an imei code off a cell phone?

I know each group of digits represents something, does anyone know of a link where they give what each number stands for exactly?

is there something you would like to know, or is this just a general question? (typing this to give myself enough time to google)

I wanted to know if there's a way to find out the manufacture date using the imei. Thinking about flashing a pda phone to wm2003, but if the phone is too old it will screw up the radio on the phone

None of those links give me the info I need to show exactly when the phoen was made or what the exact numbers mean, eg whats the difference between 34 and 35 in the code

the date of manufacture isn't listed on the back label ? Try calling up the phone mfg.'s warranty line and give them the serial or IMEI number off the phone. I'm sure they can tell you when it was manufactured.

Contact the manufacturer and ASK. 🙂
