Does anyone know how much processor I can put in an Epox 8KHA+?

I've got a decent system that is dragged down by a slow processor. The 8Kha+ is a Via KT266A chipset. I've hot 512MB 266 DDR Ram, Athlon XP 1700+, and a Radeon np modded to pro. I need a better processor that will hold me until I get to college in a couple months. The highest Thouroughbred 266mhz processor is a 2ghz (vs 1.47), 2400+. Anyone have any experience to this board or chipset on what it can handle? I looked on Epox's site and couldn't find anything. Do you think the upgrade would be worth it for $67? Think it will be fine until I get a new comp?

I just bought the 2400+ Tbred for my 8KHA+ from Newegg today. The epox website says it will support the 2600+ with the updated BIOS. But there seems to be problems with it. I'll let you know how my 2400 turns out.

I have the exact same mobo as you and I have a updated BIOS and the XP 2600 in my rig...and it is just fine...I had no problems what so ever since I have upgraded...

I am actually looking at upgrading my Mobo and Ram sometime in the future...

But just to reiterate, you shouldn't have a problem running a XP 2600 in there
