usually i'd be against this sort of thing, but two years ago i bought a WD 60gB 2mb cache drive at Future Shop (owned by Best Buy) and for whatever reason was conned into getting the product service plan or PSP. Anyways last night the western starts making these crazy noises. Remembering that i had paid an extra 20 bucks to insure the drive, i backed everything up, wiped it hardcore (7 passes with bcwipe hehe) and returned it. At first they offered to give me a Cicero (which is the store brand, but hds provided by maxtor) 80gB drive but i pressed on the girl a bit and she went back and got me a WD 80gb w/ 8mb cache. Anyways, i'm much happier now 🙂
so cliffs.... in rare cases the warranty plan can be useful.
