Am thinking of snagging this for a friend, but I wonder if it's any good. There are no customer reviews as of yet on the site, so was wondering if anyone was familiar with it?

No optical zoom + generic brand = bad combination. Look for a 2.1MP camera with at least a 2-3x optical zoom. You should be able to find something from a brand that someone has heard of even for only $100.

For that price you can get a Fuji finepix 2.1 MP with optical zoom, check GottaDeal.com for links.

I wouldn't buy a no-name like this unless there were a ton of positive user reviews (check Amazon to see if they carry it) or had a positive review from a good review site like imaging-resource.com
