802.20 has to do with obtaining a global Wireless Network in a Moving Vehicle. (Using Hi Frequency Wireless in a Moving Vehicle is affected by the Doppler Effect.)
Quote:
"It supports various vehicular mobility classes up to 250 Km/h in a MAN environment and targets spectral efficiencies, sustained user data rates and numbers of active users that are all significantly higher than achieved by existing mobile systems."
They are aiming to: "peak data rates per user in excess of 1 Mb/sec.?
In contrast, current emerging 802.11g+ is 108Mb/sec.
Next release of regular Wireless Networking is 802.11i
