They have to do each hair individually and it takes a long time. You will feel an initial shock, similar to something you'd feel during tweezing. I think its like $100 an hour or something.

A friend of mine has done it. She says it cost her a few hundred the first couple times and declined in price with each visit. Said it takes four or five treatments to the same area to make it permanant as your hair grows in cycles and you have to catch every cycle. She's happy with the results and had no problem with scarring. Said the pain is minimal.
I know someone who has it done. She's happy with the results, but I don't know any more than that.
Not sure, but I recently received an ad in the mail for a "hair removal party" at one of those places 
you should do a test spot first to make sure your skin can handle it without scaring.
It really does work, on binki line, stomach, etc. so i would think it would be very successful on the back of your neck.
You need to find a good electrolisist in your area first though. I can tell you that you get what you pay for in this case!

My wife is getting her whole bikini area done. I think she's had 5 sessions, the lady doing it said it could take anywhere from 6 to 12 sessions. She said it does hurt a bit (she has four tattoos and said none of those hurt, but that this does) but the sessions are only 15 minutes long. I think she paid a couple hundred per session.
if you're a guy and want it done on facial hair and stuff. it will probably take multiple treatments (hair on the face and neck is generally thick and resilient). dark haired people respond better to laser
sorry, i thought i read the back... i would definatly consult with a really good esthititan (sp?) and get their opinion, but i am sure it has been done before. all i can say is research first!
PS... make sure you get the very best numbing cream you can find. Most of the time they can give you a good script for it. Put it on about 30 min. before hand and wrap your neck with saran wrap after the cream is on to really make sure it get into your skin!
