Does anyone know about printing CD/DVD labels?

I just bought a Canon i860 and I want to print out some high quality DVD/CD labels for stuff that I have burned.

What kind of labels should I buy? Do I need to buy a kit of some sort? What software is good for this?

If this thread doesn't belong here just tell me or if a mod could move it to the appropriate category that would be great.

I used to do paper labels with a CD Stomper but have done away with it after having issues with playing DVDRs with labels at some points. The movie would get pixelated, skip, etc - but if I took a hair dryer to the label to remove it cleanly and then resumed at the same spot, the issues were gone. They just seem to lose their adhesive grip after a few weeks/months and end up causing more trouble than they're worth.

That said, I'm going to start looking into the inkjet printers that print labels directly on the printable disc surfaces that are available now.

The printers that print directly on the discs are sweeet. I'd love to do that some day. I'm fine just writing with a sharpie.

Labels can peel and jam your drive. Labels can make your disc wobble causing data errors and drive slowdowns as they attempt to compensate.

Labels are

what he said ... never had a problem with a label coming off or making a disk hard to read. i actually paid $ and upgraded my copy of sure thing - it does a great job, has tons of cool art work.

that said, being able to print direct to the cd would be spiffy. can your printer do that? i think only a few can.

Surething is the best label software out on the market. It works with any label.

For labels, I use the Neato Matte Photo labels. I go through about 200 labels a month. I use a Canon i320 for printing them.

You can get them in packs of 100 for around $20 @ OfficeMax or Staples.
