Ok - I want to buy a automatic fan-controller...
looked a three different ones.

1. Silverstone FP-52.
Problem: Can't adjust what the voltage should be for a certain temp.
Now it's permanently set to something like 9V (12V is max you know...)
at 30C. Waaaaay too much.

2. Innovatek Fan-o-matic.
Problem: Seems like a good unit but it's german.... it's VERY exepensive...
and it seems to only be sold in germany as well....

3. Thermatake hardcano (what a sick name) 12.
Problem: it has automatic fan-controller that is somewhat configurable
and seems to work fine. BUT there is no internal battery so you'll
have to reconfigure the automatic setting on every boot-up. DUH!!!

Any suggestions to this little problem? Is there any other automatic
fan-controllers that I've missed?

Check out the t-balancer. I went through this search a month or so ago already...

link

I'm not sure where to get it in the US though. If you find a retailer carrying it, let me know.

nice thingy, thingy...

I'll definitely keep my eyes open for that one!
Seems that it does all that the innovatek does
at 1/3 the prize!

Do you have the internal or external version?

I don't actually own one. Just bookmarked the info on it for future reference when I decide if I want it or not.

ya, I forgot about speed fan. THe problem is that it doesn't work with all motherboards. Also, if you don't have enough headers on the mobo, then you still need something else to control some of the other fans.

Yeah, speedfan never works for me... but a cool concept indeed.

It worked for me! wee-ha!

I have a Asus A8V 939. I can't control the "powerfan"
at the rear but the chassifan at the front and the cpu-fan
works just fine. And I can set them to work in respect
to hd, cpu, mb and even gpu temps!! nice!!

All that would need a little polishing in the program is
that in automatic mode there are only two "stages".
Either it's set to your minimum preset speed or your
maximum. some kind of transition in between would
be nice.

I was just reading a lengthy discussion and hands-on test results from a bunch of folks in the SPCR forums who bought the mCubed t-Balancer.

those guys where really in to it... talking about which fans
worked with PWM and not...

Anyway - I'll probably try to base my setup around the
SpeedFan as things are now. Though it WOULD be nice
if there could be some transistion in automatic mode.
Perhaps it will come in the next version...

But the t-balancer undoubtebly looks like the best there
is now when it comes to hardware fan-control. And it's
really affordable too!

I don't know if I'd call it affordable... $65 + $8 shipping to do something I can do by hand with my Vantec Nexus... Hard call to make.

The thing with the tbalancer that concerns me is that the guys at SPCR found that the thermal sensors are kinda crappy. The mCubed support said that they are going to change to a different type of sensor in a month or so I guess. I think I'd wait til then to make sure the sensors are good.

I think also that once you have the tbalancer configured, it remembers the settings without Windows running. I could be wrong, but if that's the case, it would be really nice because you can then run any Linux or other OS you want and the fans will still work at the settings you choose.

The one I have

· Automatically control the speed of 3 ventilation fans.
· Three high sensitive thermal detectors.
· Whole aluminum chassis and bracket.
· Blue background illumination light for LCD display.
· Fashion, solid, and elegant design.
· Time, HDD and power indicator icons.
· Three 3-pin ventilator extension wires.
· One Y-type 4-pin DC input wire
