Does anyone here use Sygate Personal Firewall?

I just installed it last night after I read a good review about it. After looking through the logs, it seems like it's blocking some outbound traffic for no reason. Is this normal? Should I try Tiny Personal Firewall or ZoneAlarm instead?

I read the reviews too... and because of them I dcided to test it on my clients systems. The thing was a real pain in the ass.

I did like the fact you have alot of control over what you want to do though.

If you want something simple and super-effective, get zonealarms's firewall.

I think I may be going back to ZoneAlarm too..

I don't feel like posting the whole log file since it's huge, but here are some of the blocks that I don't understand why were blocked.

BTW, I did have an older version of ZoneAlarm installed before trying Sygate Personal Firewall.

zonealarm is better. sygate is freaking hard to use. but my dad like tiny better for some reason, he plays with this stuff all the time so it's up to you. i personally think zonealarm looks better.

Looks like a configuration is messed up. If you are more comfortable with it go back to zonealarm. But maybe read some of the docs for sygate. Learn how to use it and configure it while using zone alarm. I personally like more configuration settings than zone alarm offers (plus I dont use windows ;))

Yeah, I gotta go through and see why these outgoing things are ocasionally blocked..it's odd. Thanks for the help. I may try Tiny before I try ZoneAlarm again...I've heard Tiny is real configurable too.
